Who controls the internet?

for the use of
common protocols used on the
internet to insure its evolution and ease of use among many platforms.
The Wide World Consortium plays a defining role in the development of
web browser languages such as HTML, XML and cascading style sheets.
ICANN - The Internet Company
for Assigned Names and Numbers manages, coordinates the domain
name system such as .com, .net, .org, .biz,
.info, etc. This organization is also responsible for accrediting
domain name registrars.
InterNIC - provided by ICAN to promote public understanding of
the domain name system.
IANA - Internet Assigned Numbers Authority regulates the use of
ip addresses. Ip addresses are used to direct Internet traffic
throughout the Internet. These numbers function much the same way
as your home address.
